The Reed boys track and field team will have at least one representative in all but two events in this weekend’s Northern 4A Region Track and Field Championships.

The only events not including any blue and gold are the triple jump and the shot put.

Senior Josh Gingras predictably had a strong showing at the trials Saturday at Carson High. Gingras turned in the top qualifying time in the 100- and 200-meter dashes. He also competed in the 4x100m and 4x200m relay squads that also qualified for the finals.

Distance runner Cody Forman will try to rack up a bunch of points for the Raiders after qualifying in the 800m, 1600m and the 3200m. He is a member of the 3x800m relay team. Teammate Chris Archuleta also qualified in the 1600m and 3200m races.

Chris Imus will compete in both hurdles events Saturday, again at Carson High. Sixteen boys total qualified for Reed.

On the girls side, Adriana Newell led the way for the Raiders. She made the finals in the 100m, 200m, 400m and the 4x400m relay.

Gabby Williams and Sierra Hooft will compete side-by-side in both hurdles events. Williams will also compete in the high jump with fellow Raider Nyasha LeSure. LeSure reached the finals in the long and triple jumps as well.

Reed will send girls into 12 of the 18 events.

Spanish Springs won’t send as many athletes to the finals, but there will be plenty of Purple and Silver thanks to a few Cougars.

Austin Rauh qualified in the 100m, 200m and 400m, while jumps specialist Vance Lively made it in the long, triple and high jumps to lead the boys.

For the girls, Laura Voss also qualified in those three sprint events. Katie Peters was a dual qualifier in individual events. She will run in the 800m and 1600m.
