Reward offered in attempted kidnapping case

RENO — Secret Witness is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the suspects wanted in connection with the attempted kidnapping of a 15-year-old male in the area of Edmonton Drive and Medford Drive in Reno.

On April 29 at approximately 1:20 p.m., the male juvenile was walking back to school from a nearby residence when he was approached by a black, 2-door Toyota Tacoma lifted pickup truck with unknown Nevada license plates and tinted windows occupied by two male suspects. The suspect vehicle stopped by the victim and the passenger exited the car and attempted to grab the victim by the shirt collar and backpack. The victim escaped and ran off, leaving his backpack.

The passenger suspect is described as a white male adult in his mid 30s, approximately 6 feet 2 inches tall with a slim build and dark slicked back hair. At the time he was wearing a gray shirt, light blue colored jeans and silver sunglasses. The suspect driver was described as wearing sunglasses.

Washoe County Sheriff’s office is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspects. Anyone having information relating to this crime, the suspect vehicle or the suspects should contact the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office at 328-3320, Secret Witness at 322-4900,, or text the tip to 847411 (TIP 411) with the keyword SW.
