The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) announced Monday afternoon a tip line has been established to help investigators in the search for a missing couple from Penticton, British Columbia, Canada, last seen March 19 in Baker City, Ore. while en route to Las Vegas.

RCMP investigators obtained store security video footage from Baker City confirming that Albert Chretien, 59, and his wife, Rita, 56, made a gas purchase on March 19 at local Shell gas station/convenience store there. Investigators also confirmed that the Chretiens crossed into Washington via Oroville that same day at 7:05 a.m. They stopped in Baker City where the gas purchase was made at 2:45 p.m. while they were on a business trip en route to Las Vegas. The couple did not arrive at their destination.

The couple were scheduled to return last week between Monday and Wednesday. Family members are very concerned and note that their parents failing to show for the planned attendance at a trade show and convention is out of the ordinary.

Albert Chretien is a white male, 5 feet six inches tall weighing 175 pounds with blue eyes and brown hair, bald on top. He was last seen wearing a black baseball cap with bold white lettering logo “RITAL” and smaller orange lettering “Enterprises Ltd,” a khaki button-up dress shirt, black jeans and black shoes.

Rita Chretien is a white female, 5 feet 3 inches tall weighing 135 pounds with blue eyes wearing glasses and shoulder-length brown hair worn in pony tail. She was last seen wearing a brown jacket with a light-colored collar, a white blouse/shirt, dark leather lace-up shoes and sunglasses and carrying a beige mesh purse.

The couple were driving a 2000 Chevrolet Astro van displaying British Columbia license 212-CAV. The van is a two-tone tan exterior (darker shade of tan on top and lighter shade on bottom), rear wheel drive with a cloth interior, no sunroof and a wind visor on the top of the windshield is the same color as the top darker tone of the vehicle. The rear of the vehicle has some minor damage on the left side bumper and is slightly bent inward/upward from a previous accident

The toll-free US/Canada Tip Line created to receive information specific to this case is 1-877-987-8477.
