RENO — The Peppermill Resort Spa Casino is hosting a Texas Hold’em charity poker tournament at 7 p.m. Thursday to benefit the animals of Nevada Humane Society. There will be a $120 buy-in fee with $3,000 in chips received in return. Fifty-dollar re-buys will produce another $3,000 in chips and $50 optional add-ons will produce $4,000 in chips — a generous increase over past charity tournaments. All re-buy and add-on proceeds will directly benefit the animals at Nevada Humane Society. Re-buy participants will also receive a commemorative card cap medallion for free.

This tournament is part of the week-long series of tournaments hosted by the Peppermill and will include both experienced and novice players. Food and drinks will be provided by Peppermill to all tournament participants.

“We are honored that the Peppermill chose Nevada Humane Society to be the beneficiary of this tournament,” said Bonney Brown, Executive Director. “In addition, we are thrilled that the Peppermill increased the re-buy and add-on proceeds for this tournament as we are just starting our busiest time of the year for us and our communities’ homeless pets need our help more than ever.”

The Peppermill is located at 2707 South Virginia St. in Reno. For more information about the tournament, call the Peppermill poker room at 689-7275.

Come join the fun of playing Texas Hold’em and know you are helping save the animals of Washoe County at the same time.
