RENO — Chuck Sambuchino, published author and Writer’s Digest Books editor, will share his insights from both the writer and editor’s perspectives at a lecture at Truckee Meadows Community College in April.

“Between my editorial experience and having had my humor book, ‘How to Survive a Garden Gnome Attack’ published through Random House, I’ve been involved in both the front and back ends of the publishing business,” Sambuchino said. “I know how promotion works, how books are edited, what makes a publisher say ‘yes,’ the necessity of self-marketing and more. I’ll be sharing all I’ve learned at the TMCC conference.”

Sambuchino will present “How to Get Published” and “Building Your Freelance Portfolio” at the TMCC Writers’ Conference on April 9 at TMCC’s Dandini Campus. The registration deadline for this event is April 4.

In its 21st year, the TMCC Writers’ Conference brings together editors, agents, novelists and a screenwriter to share their expertise with aspiring authors. The full-day conference costs $99. For details or to register, visit www.tmcc.edu/wdce/conferences/writers/ or call 829-9010 to have a brochure sent to you. For $29, conference participants can register for a one-on-one appointment with the literary agent of their choice (while space is available).
