RENO — As a result of injuries, 34-year-old Christina Anthony, also known as Christina Crowley, died Thursday. Her ex-husband Steven Anthony has been additionally charged with open murder and is being held without bail.

On Monday at about 8:50 a.m., RPD officers responded to a motel in the 600 block of West Fourth Street regarding a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival officers met several tenants who had heard loud noises in one of the rooms, including hearing the female victim screaming for help. After getting no answer at the door, officers forced thier entry. Upon entering the room, they located 57-year-old Anthony lying on top of the victim. Officers pulled Anthony off the victim and noticed the victim was in grave condition. Officers rendered medical treatment until REMSA arrived. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment where she was listed in critical condition.

On Wednesday, detectives located and arrested Anthony on the listed charges and he was booked into the Washoe County jail.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact the Reno Police Department Robbery/Homicide unit at 334-2188 or remain anonymous by calling Secret Witness at 322-4900.
