Sex offender arrested in Yerington

YERINGTON — The United States Marshals Service (USMS) led Fugitive Task Force, with the assistance of the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, arrested Warren Frank Tuer on Wednesday in Yerington. Tuer is wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant from Allegan, Mich., alleging four counts of criminal sexual conduct with a person younger than 13 years old. The investigation to locate Tuer led Deputy U.S. Marshals to Yerington. The subject was apprehended without incident and booked into the Lyon County jail.

Nevada FIST is a permanent task force that brings together the resources and expertise of state, local and federal agencies in a coordinated effort to arrest dangerous fugitives and pursue sexual offenders wherever they are located. The Nevada FIST, led by the U.S. Marshals Service, is partnership comprised of law enforcement investigators from the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, the Nevada Department of Public Safety, Sparks Police Department, and the Reno Police Department. In addition, the task force works closely with law enforcement agencies throughout Nevada.
