RENO — Effective Friday, the public counter at the Reno Police Department’s central substation, located on the east side of the National Bowling Stadium, will be closed. Police field operations will continue to use the location.

The closure is the result of the recent budget reductions, including civilian police personnel that staffed the location.

Residents are encouraged to use the Police Department’s online reporting service by visiting www.reno.gov and selecting “Police Reporting System” from the drop-down menu. Residents also can fill out a report in person from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Reno Police Department, 455 E. Second St.
