The purpose of the forum is to discuss and develop recommendations for the steering committee on issues to focus on as they establish the work plan for the Great Basin LCC, provide input to the committee on establishment of initial issue-based working groups, and to select steering committee members from nongovernmental and private organizations. All are invited to attend the forum and are encouraged to bring recommendations for the steering committee seats, as well as provide ideas for the development of the Great Basin LCC work plan. The steering committee will review and finalize the Great Basin LCC Draft Charter and begin to work on the organization’s work plan at their first meeting in March.
The Great Basin LCC is a self-directed partnership that is one of 21 LCCs nationwide that have been implemented by the Department of the Interior (DOI). The Great Basin LCC will provide a range of scientific and technical support tools for landscape-scale conservation to a wide array of managers. These tools will help anyone interested in managing resources in the face of a changing climate and other stressors.
