The first arriving fire company found a two story residential structure completely charged with heavy smoke.
The engine company made an interior attack on the fire, and had it knocked down within nine minutes after arriving on scene.
The occupants were not home at the time of the fire.
Fire damage was contained to the kitchen, although there was substantial smoke and heat damage to the rest of the interior of the home. Due to the fire and heat damage the home was not able to be reoccupied.
Nineteen personnel responded including a battalion chief, four structure engines, one truck company, a safety officer and a fire investigator. One of the responding four structure engines was from the Reno Fire Department.
There were no injuries reported to responding public safety crews.
The fire appears to have started accidentally. No damage cost estimates have been calculated.
