Reward offered in battery case

SUN VALLEY — Secret Witness is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the suspect wanted in connection with the battery with a deadly weapon of a male victim in the parking lot of the 7-11 located at 5700 Sun Valley Blvd.

On Saturday at about 3:30 p.m., the 38-year-old Hispanic male victim exited his vehicle in the parking lot of the store when he was confronted by the suspect who asked him for money. The victim told the suspect that he did not have any money to spare and they got into a verbal argument. The suspect produced a 3 to 4 inch edged weapon and stabbed the victim once in the abdomen. The suspect fled on foot. The suspect is described as a black male adult, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 140 to 150 pounds with short hair or shaved head and was last seen wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt and black pants. The victim drove himself to the hospital and was treated for a non-life-threatening stab wound.
