2 men arrested for child abuse, domestic battery

RENO — On Dec. 8, Reno police patrol officers responded to a local hospital to investigate a possible child abuse to a 1-year-old boy that had bruising and abrasions on his genitalia. Detectives assigned to the Sex Crimes/Child Abuse Unit were called out and after further investigation on Tuesday arrested a Nicholas Masten, an 18-year-old Reno resident,  for one count of child abuse and one count of domestic battery. His bail is set at $6,772.

On Monday, the Reno police department patrol officers responded to a local emergency room to investigate a possible abuse to an 18-month-old child who had second-

degree burns on her back and the back of her head. Detectives assigned to the Sex Crimes/Child Abuse Unit were called out and upon further investigation Juan Herrera-Lopez, a 33-year-old Reno resident, was arrested for one count of child abuse and one count of domestic battery. His bail is set at $6,772.
