Armed robbery in south Reno

RENO — On Wednesday at 5:41 p.m., officers from the Reno Police Department responded to the area of Sardina’s Restaurant, located at 3314 S. McCarran Boulevard, on the report of an armed robbery in which the suspect had stolen the victim’s purse at gunpoint. The suspect was reported to have fled the area on foot prior to police arriving at the scene.

Officers arrived and met with the victim in the parking lot. The victim said she had exited the restaurant and was walking to her vehicle when she was confronted by the suspect who robbed her at gunpoint and fled with her purse. The victim was not hurt during the incident.

The suspect is described as a black male adult between 20 and 25 years old, about 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs about 150 pounds. He was wearing a green jacket with a furry collar. The suspect had a scarf concealing his face and was armed with an unknown type of handgun.
