RENO — On Monday at 8:46 p.m., Reno police officers responded to the 2900 block of Scottsdale Road on a report of a residential burglary. The suspect had forcibly entered the residence through the rear sliding glass door when he was confronted by one of the occupants. The suspect and victim immediately began to fight when the suspect struck the victim several times with a crowbar. Another occupant at the residence tried to break up the fight and the suspect attempted to hit her with the crowbar but missed.

The second victim was able to retrieve a baseball bat and struck the suspect several times, rendering him unconscious. When officers arrived on scene they located the suspect still unconscious inside of the residence. The suspect, identified at 26-year-old Brandon Durham, and the first victim were transported to the hospital for their injuries. The victim was treated and released for non-life-threatening injuries. Durham is listed in critical condition in the intensive care unit. Upon being released from the hospital he will be transported to the Washoe County Jail.

Durham will be charged with burglary, home invasion, battery with a deadly weapon and assault with a deadly weapon.
