The Tips for Pets event will feature media personalities, Nevada Humane Society (NHS) board members and Nevada Air National Guardsmen teaming up to wait tables in order to raise money and awareness for the homeless animals in the community.
Tips collected by the celebrity waiters that evening will be used to purchase pet food for the animals currently living at the NHS shelter and for people who cannot provide for their own animals. The tips would be in addition to regular servers’ gratuity.
The Nevada Humane Society will have dogs, cats and kittens available for adoption from 5 to 8 p.m.
Additionally, a pet food drive will take place throughout the event, with collection bins in the parking lot. In honor of Veterans Day, current and retired members of our military organizations will be there to help. The society’s wish list includes:
• Canned food or kibble for cats, senior dogs and puppies
• Chewy dog treats (no rawhide)
• Dog toys that are 6 inches or more in diameter and chew-resistant (such as Jolly balls or soccer balls)
• Cat toys
• Cat litter
• Small cat carriers
• Leashes and collars of all sizes
• Cat beds and cat trees
• Towels and blankets
• Hand sanitizer
• Paper towels
