RENO — Police have caught one person and are looking for another in connection with a residential burglary early Saturday evening.

At 6:44 p.m., officers responded to the 600 block of Thoma Street on a report that two suspects had entered a residence where they battered several victims and took various items of personal property. While responding to the area officers located the suspects driving away in a vehicle. When officers stopped the vehicle, the right front passenger ran away and the driver sped away. Officers were able to apprehend the suspect who fled on foot a short time later. Upon being taken into custody, the suspect, 31-year-old Brett Williams, was found to be in possession of property that was taken in the burglary. He was charged with burglary, grand larceny, preventing a victim from reporting a crime, battery and obstructing and resisting officers.

The victims in this case received minor injuries that did not require medical attention.

The suspect still at large is a white male adult, 5 feet 7 inches tall, bald with a muscular build, wearing a white tank top and blue jeans with multiple tattoos on both arms. The vehicle was a 1989 blue Buick four-door with Nevada license plate 520WWX.

Anyone with information about this case is urged to call Reno police detectives at 334-2115 or Secret Witness at 322-4900.
