RENO — In the beginning of 2009, detectives from the Reno Police Department Burglary Unit initiated an investigation into a series of retail store thefts in the Reno area. The loss totaled about $100,000 in merchandise. The investigation expanded into northern California and involved Target Stores Assets Protection Investigations and the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.

During the course of the investigation, detectives from Reno traveled to Sacramento and were able to identify two suspects believed to be living in the Sacramento area. In May of 2010, warrants were issued related to the investigation.

On Wednesday at about 1:10 a.m., Reno Police officers responded to an intrusion alarm at the AT&T Store located at 4985 Kietzke Lane. Initial responding officers observed a vehicle parked in front of the business with the engine running. Two suspects exited the business and were taken into custody. Interviews of the suspects by detectives led to three additional individuals being contacted at a local Reno hotel and casino. One of those individuals was subsequently arrested.

The suspects arrested include 21-year-old Mikhail Kuznetsov of Citrus Heights, Calif.; 20-year-old Pavel Postoronka of Sacramento, Calif.; and 20-year-old Victor Perepelitsyn of Plumas Lake, Calif.

At this time, detectives are completing an additional investigation in Reno and are in contact with the California jurisdictions involved in this investigation.
