SPARKS — Washoe County Sheriff’s Office detectives report they made an arrest in connection with 23 stolen items found at a local pawn shop in addition to a set of stolen license plates from a Sparks Police Department case.

On Oct. 25, a robbery victim contacted the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office to report that he saw his stolen refrigerator on Craig’s List and made arrangements to purchase it. Patrol deputies and detectives responded to the 7-Eleven convenience store at 3300 S. McCarran Blvd., where the deal was to be made. Sheriff’s officials intervened and arrested Donald Moraga, 34, a Sparks resident. The refrigerator, valued at $9,000, was recovered.

Since then, detectives have followed up with witnesses and victims. There have been several stolen credit cards, tools, a television, car stereo system, battery charger, a tool box and three rifles recovered.

The investigation is ongoing and detectives are asking anyone with information to contact the sheriff’s Detectives Division at 328-3320 or Secret Witness at 322-4900.
