RENO — A driver was involved in two successive accidents Wednesday according to a Nevada Highway Patrol (NHP) report.
At 12:40 p.m., NHP troopers were dispatched to a single-vehicle accident on southbound U.S. 395 near the Moana Lane interchange. A gold 2004 Chevrolet Malibu was traveling south when the driver departed the travel lane and struck a section of guardrail. The vehicle came to rest on its wheels, blocking the middle and right southbound lanes. The female driver was evaluated by REMSA personnel for her injuries and was transported to Renown Regional Medical Center by ground ambulance.
Prior to this accident, this same vehicle had been reportedly involved in a separate hit-and-run collision in the parking lot of the Costco on Plumb Lane. The vehicle license plate was identified by witnesses and reported to NHP.
Troopers at the scene took two separate crash reports and are seeking information from witnesses of either accident. Witnesses can contact Trooper Chris Brown via the Department of Public Safety-Communications Center at 687-0400 regarding case No. NHP-1011031002 or case No. NHP-1011031089.
