RENO — Riverwalk merchants and local musicians are banding together for “A Song for Alex,” a concert to raise money to cover funeral costs for the son of one of their merchants, from 7 to 9 p.m. on Saturday at the West Street Market at 148 West St. A donation of $5 is requested for the concert.

Several local musicians and groups have offered to provide entertainment free of charge to raise funds for the funeral of Alex Theoglitis, the 21 year-old son of Niko and Jaqui Theoglitis, owners of Niko’s Greek Kitchen in downtown Reno. Alex committed suicide.

Included in the entertainment lineup for the concert being called “A Song for Alex” are Michelle Pappas, Eric Andersen, hip-hop artist Tree Woods, Niko’s daughter Athena and more.
