The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a human skull discovered Saturday by a surveyor in the Perry Canyon area of Palomino Valley.

Sheriff’s deputies confirmed the skull to be human on Sunday. At this time, there is no information on how long the skull had been there and/or the origin of the skull.

The area was thoroughly searched and no other human skeletal remains were found. This is an ongoing investigation. Further details will be released as evidence is examined and evaluated over the next several weeks.
