RENO — Northern Nevada-based RHP Mechanical Systems has been ranked among the country’s top specialty contractors, taking top spots in two different annual reports published by Southwest Contractor and the Engineering News-Record.

Based on revenue generated throughout 2009, RHP stands at 37th among 113 specialty contractors as ranked by Southwest Contractor and sits at No. 470 in Engineering News-Record’s annual nationwide Top 600 Specialty Contractors list.

RHP Mechanical Systems, originally known as Ray Heating, has been locally owned and operated in Reno since 1950. RHP specializes in HVAC, plumbing and mechanical systems ranging from home heating and air conditioning to complex industrial projects and integrated pre-construction services. Among the projects helping RHP earn its latest rankings is the $4.1-million mechanical/plumbing system for the Nevada Department of Agriculture.

“We’re particularly proud to have earned these rankings from two very reputable, nationally recognized publications, especially at a time when the construction industry has been hit so hard economically,” said Steve Scolari, president and CEO of RHP Mechanical Systems. “We’re grateful to our clients and other customers who have remained so supportive of us throughout the last year and we look forward to continuing to serve the Southwest with continuing dedication to excellence and safety in 2011.”
