Schedule announced for social media conference

RENO — Social Media at Reno-Tahoe 2010 — the sm@rt conference — invites small businesses, nonprofits, tourism and gaming properties and professionals from all sectors to join the conversation, Dec. 8-10, at John Ascuaga’s Nugget.

More than two dozen regional and national speakers and session presenters include top authors, expert practitioners and strategists from such companies as media giant Gannett and winter travel destinations such as Vail Resorts, as well as experts in building business for professional service firms. Conference sessions have been announced on topics including best practices, listening louder and thinking faster about customer economics, creating remarkable content, amplifying your brand and navigating the new.

Hosted by the University of Nevada, Reno College of Business, Reynolds School of Journalism and Extended Studies, sm@rt gives attendees specialized instruction and up-to-the-minute tools to improve their social media marketing, with strategies they can apply immediately in their companies and organizations. Registrants for sm@rt save $100 if registration is received by Nov. 1. The cost of the conference after Nov. 1 is $695. Onsite registration at the conference will be $750, available Dec. 8-10.
