RENO — Guys, ghouls and ghosts will scare with a western flair in downtown Reno's Riverwalk District on Saturday during Tricks, Treats & Treasures from 5 to 8 p.m.

Free family fun with games, entertainment, ghost tales, fire spinners and more are planned at the West Street Plaza and at West Street Market.

Trick-or-treating locations will be detailed in a free “treasure map” available at many participating Riverwalk District merchant shops. The event will kick off at the West Street Plaza with an opening proclamation and a dance by performing group Good Luck Macbeth at 5 p.m.

A presentation by Kidscape productions will take the stage before the ghosts of Joaqin Miller, Lillie Langreee, Ol' Virginny and Julia Bullette share some spooky historical Nevada tales.

A spirited western shootout follows the ghostly tales and then Edgar Allen Poe will read his poem “The Raven.” Controlled Burn fire dancers and stilt walkers will wrap up the evening’s entertainment.

Raffle ticket sales will benefit the Children's Cabinet of Northern Nevada, a nonprofit that addresses the needs of children and families in the community. Tickets are $2 each and will be available for sale in the Reno eNVy booth in the West Street Plaza during the event. The winner must be present to win at the 7 p.m. drawing.
