The last time the Reed volleyball team faced off against McQueen, it needed a comeback, from down two games, to come away with the victory. No such effort was needed this time around. The Raiders swept the second go-round against the Lancers, 25-14, 25-20, 25-20 Thursday evening.
Reed boys soccer settles for tie
At McQueen, a late goal by the hosts scuttled Reed's chances of stealing a road win. McQueen scored in the 78th minute to pull into a 2-2 tie and earn a draw Wednesday afternoon in boys prep soccer action.

Manogue too much for Spanish Springs
In one of the more highly anticipated prep volleyball matches of the fall season, Sierra League-leading Bishop Manogue and High Desert League-leading Spanish Springs hooked up in a rare Friday night affair. Perennial northern 4A power Manogue dropped upstart Spanish Springs in four games, 25-14, 22-25, 25-20, 25-18.
The Reed High football team will try and run its win streak to six games while Sparks will just try to get on a winning streak when the two schools return to the gridiron for Week 8 action Friday night. Spanish Springs gets its lone bye of the season this weekend, but you can bet the Cougars still have football on their mind.

The Spanish Springs boys soccer team made easy work of McQueen Wednesday evening, posting a 4-0 shutout and remaining in second place in the High Desert League.

The Sparks High boys soccer team kept its perfect record unblemished by dispatching North Tahoe at home, 5-0, in a Sierra League matchup Tuesday.
