Opening Night is one of those as are potential playoff dates, but maybe right after those, comes the the first day full-contact practice drills are allowed. For Nevada’s prep programs, that day was Monday.
Young racers shine at Desert Park
STEAD — The Northern Nevada Kart Club hosted its final day race of the season at Desert Park Raceway on Sunday. Great weather set the stage for an afternoon of hard racing where several main events ended in close finishes … and several of the younger drivers staged the closest races of the day.

In a sea of pink and navy blue, local women were taught the basic of football by the University of Nevada, Reno Wolf Pack football coaching staff and their wives Friday night at Mackey Stadium. The women were treated to dinner and drinks before learning how to throw and tackle and were the first to see the football team’s newly designed jerseys, modeled by Pack football players themselves.
