Cougars, Raiders play to draw, again
The girls soccer teams from Reed and Spanish Springs played 160 minutes of soccer this fall and not even that was enough to determine the better of the two Sparks schools. The arch rivals played to a 1-1 draw Tuesday night in the regular season finale for both clubs. In the first meeting between the two schools, four weeks ago, they played to a scoreless tie.
Vorra rocks Wild West Motorsports Park
MUSTANG - The Valley Off Road Racing Association ended its season this weekend at the Wild West Motorsports Park east of Sparks. As a result 50 entries were on hand and Sunday was full of hard racing on this fast, hilly track.

Spurts of 34 unanswered points have a way of changing the momentum of any game, in any sport. A spurt like that indeed turned the tide Thursday night. Luckily for Spanish Springs, it was the team scoring in bunches and it wound up prevailing 48-35 at home over North Valleys in a High Desert League football battle.
Dayton football downs Sparks, 42-19
The Sparks High football team found itself in a competitive game in the fourth quarter for the first time this fall. Unfortunately for Sparks, it still could not find a way to steal a win. Dayton tacked on a couple of late fourth-quarter scores and saddled Sparks with a 42-19 loss in a DI-A North League prep football battle.

In many ways they are the same. Both are four-year starters. Both played a vital role in Reed’s success in their years in Raider blue. And both are taking their talents to the next level after spring’s graduation.
SSHS boys soccer buries McQueen; Reed comes up short
The Spanish Springs boys soccer team continues to look like a team on a mission. That mission would be a winning a D-I North Region championship and the Cougars are well on their way, remaining the lone unbeaten large school in northern Nevada. Spanish Springs improved to 13-0-2 thanks to a 7-0 road romp at McQueen Wednesday afternoon.

It’s back. ArenOcross, Reno’s original motocross race is returning this year after taking this past year off. The traditional race started in 1991 and has resided in Reno for 23 years.
