Nevada lets game slip away against San Diego State
Seconds after San Diego State tight end Gavin Escobar evaded four would-be Nevada tacklers to score a touchdown in overtime and bring the score to 38-37 with the extra point pending, SDSU coach Rocky Long called a timeout instead of sending his kicking unit out for the try. Spanish Springs throttles North Valleys
Huddling around coach Scott Hare, Spanish Springs football players let out a roar of cheers. Yes, the players were happy about just demolishing North Valleys 53-7 but they were also celebrating having clinched a spot in the Nevada Northern Division I playoffs. The loudest of the cheers came when Hare told his team that it would be playing for the High Desert League crown in its regular season finale.
