Rainiers rally in ninth, down Aces 9-6
RENO — The Aces took a one-run lead into the ninth inning Friday night, but the Tacoma Rainiers rallied for four runs in the frame to capture a comeback, 9-6, victory over Reno at Aces Ballpark.
Cougars get by Raiders
Thursday’s late-afternoon, early-evening wind gusts wreaked havoc on the baseball diamond at Reed High School. They just didn’t stop cross-town rivals Spanish Springs and Reed from locking up in a tightly-contested Northern 4A league affair.

Collin Cowgill homered and tripled Sunday afternoon, but an eight-run fifth inning for Fresno was enough to push the Grizzlies to a 12-5 victory over the Reno Aces at Chukchansi Park.

Rain isn't usually a good thing for a dirt track but some rain can be a really good thing. On Saturday the morning rain set up Reno-Fernley Raceway's oval to be super tacky, fast and over 50 drivers showed up.
Reed sweeps away Reno
The Reno High softball team had two games to try and take down the Reed Raiders Friday afternoon. However, each contest ended with very similar results — lopsided margins in favor of Reed. The Raiders took both mercy rule-shortened games 13-2 and 14-2 in the High Desert league matchup.
