Cougars, Railroaders fall on the road
The Spanish Springs Cougars are not helping their cause in trying to improve their postseason seeding. Four days after getting upset by cross-town rival Reed, a team it had already beaten three times this spring, Spanish Springs found itself on the short end of a 6-3 score at Wooster Wednesday.
Las Vegas hangs on, downs Reno 4-3
LAS VEGAS— Reno put the tying and go-ahead runs on base with nobody out in the ninth, but a strikeout and ground ball double play ended the proceedings Wednesday night, as the Las Vegas 51s topped the Aces for the second-straight night, 4-3, at Cashman Field.
Cougars settle for second at RedHawk
Some late afternoon struggles cost the Spanish Springs Cougars a tournament title and High Desert League championship. The SSHS saw a few scores balloon down the stretch of the final HDL boys golf tournament of the spring, Tuesday at RedHawk Golf Club.
Reed surprises Reno
Reed is getting hot at the right time in order to keep its playoff hopes alive. After starting the Northern 4A league baseball season by winning twice in 13 contests, the Raiders have won four of their last five, including two wins in back-to-back games against a pair of teams that have spent time in first place.
Big fifth inning nets Aces 12-8 win over Las Vegas
The Aces sent 14 men to the plate, collected 11 hits and scored 10 runs in the fifth inning Monday night, a record-setting offensive explosion that lifted Reno to a 12-8 victory over the Las Vegas 51s in the series opener at Cashman Field.

The Reed High softball team went to Spanish Springs Saturday looking to the grab a lead in the High Desert League softball standings. The visiting Raiders trailed the host Cougars by a game going in their weekend twin bill, but left three games out as Spanish Springs took care of business on its home field.

RENO — The Aces took a one-run lead into the ninth inning Friday night, but the Tacoma Rainiers rallied for four runs in the frame to capture a comeback, 9-6, victory over Reno at Aces Ballpark.
Cougars get by Raiders
Thursday’s late-afternoon, early-evening wind gusts wreaked havoc on the baseball diamond at Reed High School. They just didn’t stop cross-town rivals Spanish Springs and Reed from locking up in a tightly-contested Northern 4A league affair.
Cougars second, Reed fourth at Somersett
The road to a High Desert League championship got a little bit tougher for the Spanish Springs golf team. The Cougars could have virtually clinched a league title had they won Wednesday's HDL tournament at Somersett Country Club in northwest Reno.
