This weekend Lovelock celebrated Frontier Days and the new speedway held its very first night races. Between the staff dealing with a host of new challenges night events bring, including a disabled water truck, there was some hard racing and a new winner when the dust finally settled.
Truckee course offers mountain beauty, unique layout
Coyote Moon is located just 35 miles from Reno, in the historic town of Truckee. I had not played this course before and was very excited to experience Coyote Moon. Everything I had heard about Coyote Moon has been about how beautiful the course is and that it will challenge you. I was expecting a beautiful but difficult course with tight fairways and fast greens, which required accurate shots.
Pacific 5 helps local schools
July is as good of time as any to play some high school football. Four schools put on a show for gridiron fans Saturday and helped raise some money at the same time.

Saturday night was just a bit smoky, warm and humid at American Valley Speedway but that didn't deter either the fans or racers from having a hot night on the track. For some it was a bit too hot but for one Reno driver, the weather was just prefect as he swept the night.
