Raiders dispatch Panthers
The Reed baseball team began the season racking up wins before a sluggish start to Northern 4A league play slowed its pace. Now heading down the home stretch and jostling for possible playoff positioning, the Raiders are heating up at the right time. A 10-7 victory over visiting North Valleys on Tuesday afternoon marked Reed’s fifth win out of its last six league games, placing it at the .500 plateau.

RENO — The Reno Aces forced extra innings in the ninth, then overcame a one-run deficit in the 10th Monday night, walking-off with a 14-13 victory over the Sacramento River Cats in a wild affair at Aces Ballpark.

As the prep baseball season winds down, the Spanish Springs squad is battling to try and keep its postseason chances alive. The team taking the field for the Cougars three years ago had no such worries as Adam Miller helped guide the SSHS-nine to a spot in the playoffs. Now, Miller is trying to chip in and help another team reach its postseason goals.

RENO — A pair of singles was all the Aces offense could generate Saturday night, as Reno dropped a 6-0 decision to the Sacramento River Cats in the series opener at Aces Ballpark.
The Reed High softball team took a giant step forward Saturday in its quest to win a Northern 4A League championship. The Raiders swept perennial state power Spanish Springs 13-3 and 3-1 in a pair of conference clashes at SSHS.
