It was a good day for local golf teams Tuesday. Spanish Springs posted its lowest tournament team total of the fall away from their home course and Reed finished with its lowest team total of the fall on any course at Tuesday's High Desert League girls golf tournament hosted at Sierra Sage Golf Course in north Reno.

After failing to find the win column in their first four Northern 4A league matches, the Reed Raiders now look like they're on the right track. Reed captured a 3-0 win over McQueen in a girls soccer conference clash Tuesday afternoon.
High winds cancel end of air races
For the first time in its 47-year, the most anticipated event at the Reno National Championship Air Races, the Unlimited Gold, had to be canceled due to increasing winds and safety concerns. And the T-6 Gold was also canceled for the same reason.
