The Reed High baseball program will have a new leader when the team returns to the diamond next spring. After just two years on the job, Nick Royle was fired last week by the Reed administration.

RENO — The Spanish Springs Cougars aren’t too shabby when they score first. In fact, they’ve won every game this season in which they’ve done so. Spanish Springs took the lead first in each of their games Friday and the ensuing victories have them in prime position.

The Spanish Springs softball team has qualified for state tournament play three of the past four seasons so it may not seem all that special to an outsider. However, that’s far from the case for those who suit up in the Purple and Teal.

RENO — Spanish Springs played in its sixth straight Northern 4A softball championship Saturday. Thanks to a 3-0 victory over Damonte Ranch, The Cougars now have their fourth regional championship during that stretch.
The Spanish Springs softball team wasn’t used to sitting home during the state tournament when it had to do so last year. After all, the Cougars had been to state the three seasons before.

RENO — Things went from bad to worse for the Reed High softball team on Thursday. The Raiders were bounced from the Northern 4A Softball Tournament on the event’s first day for the first time in veteran coach Ray Charles 12-year tenure.

RENO — The Spanish Springs Cougars got a little more than they bargained for from a scrappy Bishop Manogue squad in the first round of the Northern 4A softball tournament Thursday afternoon.
