Reed boys erupt for 58 second-half points, stun Spanish Springs
For one half of the High Desert League boys prep basketball showdown Saturday afternoon between cross-town rivals Reed and Spanish Springs, it looked as though the Cougars would avenge their 10-point defeat from earlier in the season to the Raiders. Unfortunately, for the Cougs, the second half of the contest was a completely different story as Reed exploded for the 75-63 comeback win.
RHS boys overcome ugly offensive effort, win at North Valleys
RENO — Reed returned to the court after a week off due to Finals Week and at times the Raiders looked as rusty as a beat up old truck sitting in the garage. Despite struggling to buy a basket during long stretches, the Raiders left with a lackluster 66-52 victory at North Valleys in boys prep hoops action Friday night.

Clawing its way back, the Greenwave made a game of it, but the early deficit proved too much to make up as the visiting Railroaders hung on for a 68-65 win.
SSHS boys hold on for key road win over Mustangs
The Spanish Springs boys basketball team came into its winter campaign with many around northern Nevada believing it could be one of the top teams around. But it didn’t look that way a month into the season after the Cougars got off to a 1-4 start in league play.
