Reed, No. Valleys boys soccer squads play to draw
The Reed boys soccer team knew when it lost at McQueen Wednesday afternoon, its playoff hopes had slipped to somewhere between slim and none. However, after playing North Valleys to a 1-1 draw Friday night, the Raiders seemed to embrace a new role -- spoilers.
Football coaches see promise heading into final games
To an outsider, the Reed coaching staff might be a little spoiled. The Raiders are averaging just over 37 points an outing. They have won five of their last six games and put up 46 and 52 points the last two. And yet, after every Friday night game in recent weeks, Reed coaches are preaching, 'we need better and more consistent offensive execution.'
Saturday marked the final day of the Sparks AYSO youth soccer season. The season began in mid-August and ran through this weekend's games. The local U-8 league competed at Katherine Dunn Elementary School in east Sparks.

Coming into the Reed High School football team’s final home game of the season against North Valleys, one could have expected a high-scoring shootout between the two potent offenses. Instead of a display of touchdowns though, the Raiders and visiting Panthers showed off their punting skills as neither side could find a rhythm Friday night.
