Reed football hosting fundraiser
The Reed High School Quarterback Club, the fundraising entity for the Raiders football program, is hosting a Meet-and-Greet Night as it gears up for the fast-approaching season.
The Reed High girls soccer program is hosting its late summer conditioning program three times a week (Tuesday-Thursday) this week and next. Official tryouts kick off August 16.

Aces take down Grizzlies

Frontier days racing at Lovelock
The annual Frontier Days celebration was highlighted by a two-day show at the Lovelock Speedway. Several drivers celebrated as well as they swept their races and everyone got a chance to race on the speedway's new clays surface.

Sparks All-Stars knocked out by Reno West
The Sparks Babe Ruth all-stars saw their summer season come to an end Thursday night at Lampe Park in Gardnerville. Sparks suffered a 12-4 losers’ bracket loss to Reno West at the 14-year-old State Babe Ruth Tournament.
It’s going to be a busy week for the Spanish Springs Cal Ripken League. The local youth baseball organization saw six of its all-star teams win state titles and advance to regional tournaments at various venues across the West.
