What can we do about Nevada fires?
Sparks is surrounded by hills and the mountains especially on our east side are covered in “cheatgrass” and other non-native alien weeds, giving them a rather dull yellowish hue.
First we need to recognize the current dire straits facing America’s economy and our individual risk in a potential meltdown of the so called “ownership society.”
Pyramid-McCarran traffic solutions aren’t appeasing to locals
On Sunday and Monday, the RTC and NDOT folks met with the neighbors of the Village Green subdivision and the parishioners from Immaculate Conception Church at the church’s facilities for a session of explanation of proposed road projects and question and answer session. Of the several projects mentioned, the audience was primarily concerned with the changes that are proposed for the Pyramid Way and North McCarran Boulevard intersection.
Misconduct in the governmental workplace
I just read the results of the National Governmental Ethics Survey conducted by the Ethics Resource Center. According to our governmental employees, the overall rate of observed misconduct across all levels of government is nearly 60 percent. The highest levels of misconduct were at the local level at 62 percent with the lowest level of observed misconduct being at the federal level at 52 percent.
