Health worker sentenced for medicaid fraud
LAS VEGAS — Angelia Chupa, a 50-year-old Las Vegas resident, was sentenced Thursday for two misdemeanor offenses of submission of false claims. Justice of the Peace William Jansen sentenced her to 90 days in jail, suspended, payment of $7,100 in restitution, penalties and costs and one year probation in this Medicaid fraud case. The case was investigated and prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit.

Police respond to shoplifting at Kohl’s store
SPARKS — On Monday at 4:27 p.m., Sparks police officers were dispatched to the Kohl’s located at 5035 Pyramid Way in Spanish Springs on a report of shoplifting. Slot machine burglary at Dickey's BBQ
RENO — On Tuesday at 2:52 a.m., officers from the Reno Police Department responded to a business alarm at Dickey’s BBQ located at 395 E. Plumb Lane. Upon arrival police discovered that someone had made entry into the business and pried open several slot machines and removed the money boxes.
