Lesmen Sanchez was last seen jumping into the Truckee River by Grand Sierra Resort security officers on Tuesday at about 3:30 p.m. Sanchez was last seen under the Greg Street bridge. At the time Sanchez jumped into the river, Grand Sierra Resort security officers were attempting to speak with him concerning some suspicious activity on the casino’s premises.

On Thursday at 6:54 p.m., Sparks Firefighters responded to a report of a structure fire at 408 Duggan Ave. The first arriving fire company found a single story residential structure, with a fully engulfed garage fire and possible attic fire. It was unknown whether anyone was inside the residence.

BLM offers reward in theft of government property case
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is offering a $1,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the theft of government property. An all-terrain vehicle (ATV) was stolen from the BLM Nevada State Office, located at 1340 Financial Blvd. in Reno, during the evening of March 7 or morning of March 8.

Speed enforcement campaign successful
RENO — The speed enforcement campaign done by local law enforcement yielded a total of 368 speeding citations, with a total of 729 actual traffic stops from Feb. 27 to March 20. Of the 729 traffic stops, deputies issued 262 verbal warnings merely educating the public of the dangers of traveling in excess of the posted speed limit. RENO — On Wednesday at about 2:05 p.m., a grey Scion, driven by a 21-year-old driver, was reportedly traveling east on McCarran Boulevard between Kings Row and Las Brisas Boulevard at excessive speeds.
