RENO — A 27-year-old woman, identified as Reno resident Tami Jane Sheldon, has died after being hit by a school bus on Jan. 24. SPARKS — On Sunday, the Sparks Police Department conducted a DUI checkpoint in the area of Victorian Avenue and 20th Street. Of the 439 vehicles to stop at the checkpoint, 12 individuals went through secondary screening for driving under the influence and three people were arrested for DUI. Pedestrian hit-and-run
On Thursday at about 6:20 p.m., a middle-aged man was crossing Longley Boulevard in the 2500 block about a quarter mile south of the intersection with Rock Boulevard. The man had just left the convenience store at 2550 Longley Blvd. and told the clerk he was planning on walking to downtown Reno. The clerk described the man as possibly being homeless.
