Keepin' it Neil
One day. That’s how long Randy Cordero lasted in the high school band. The attire was too much for him. “I had to wear the big uniform and the big hat,” he said. “I couldn’t do it.” Apparently, he has outgrown that feeling and today wears sequined shirts and tight pants as Surreal Neil, the front man for Neil Diamond tribute band Super Diamond. The group will perform on Friday and Saturday at John Ascuaga’s Nugget. Cordero, who today lives in ...

Review: The unassuming anti-diva serenades Reno
Colbie Caillat wasn't pumping up an audience Friday night at the Grand Sierra Resort. Nor was she putting on a staged and canned act for the bennefit of her audience. The sweet, unassuming Malibu girl was just being herself and singing. Caillat didn't take the stage until 10:15 p.m., leaving warm up piano bar and coffee shop guitar artist Howie Day to entertain the crowd. The show started at 8. From what I hear, she was out back before hand ba...

The woman who brought back sundress-and-floppy-hat pop will be taking the Grand Sierra Resort’s Grand Theater stage at 8 p.m. Friday with her guitar, honey-toned voice and possibly her signature ...

Denial. Anger. Acceptance. Those emotions can be found interwoven in many of life’s experiences and, hence, many of life’s songs.
