A team of UNR Mechanical Engineering and Research faculty students were on hand Thursday morning at Dilworth Stem Academy in Sparks to help the students fill their 5-foot in diameter hydrogen-filled weather balloons. A total of 10 balloons in all were launched, each carrying 12 pounds of experiments that included solar dust collectors, cockroaches and blood. RENO — The National Weather Service is warning that the dry windy weather blowing into Nevada on Thursday will create critical wildfire conditions across most of the state south of U.S. Interstate 80.
