Nearly 2,000 Spanish Springs High School students and faculty, as well as local community members, showed up on campus in the wee hours of the morning Wednesday to say 'Good Morning America.'

When Spanish Springs High School opened its doors in the fall of 2001, I never dreamed I'd ever be at the school at 3:40 a.m., let alone working. And yet, there I found myself early Wednesday morning. The crazy thing was, I wasn't alone, not even close.
Roll out the red carpet for GMA
The administration at Spanish Springs High School found out around mid-day Monday that ABC's Good Morning America would be on campus bright and early Wednesday. That news came on the heals of SSHS school leaders learning a parody video of pop music icon Katy Perry's hit song 'Roar,' produced by Cougar students, had been selected as one of five national finalists in a contest sponsored by GMA.
