Coming off a demoralizing overtime loss at home against Fresno State, the Nevada men’s basketball was looking for a bounce back effort at San Diego State Saturday afternoon. Unfortunately for the Wolf Pack, the Aztecs dashed those hopes with a 88-75 victory.

The loss marked the Pack’s third consecutive defeat and sixth of its last seven contests. Nevada now sits at 12-14 overall and 3-9 in the Mountain West Conference.

Nevada were in striking distance of the Aztecs with SDSU holding a 29-28 edge at the 8:49 mark of the first half, but a 16-4 San Diego State run left the host on top 45-32 at halftime. The Silver and Blue’s last lead of the contest came just over three minutes into the game.

Malik Story led Nevada with a game-high 33 points, including seven three-pointers on 7-of-11 shooting from beyond the arc. Jerry Evans Jr. added 16 points in the contest while Deonte Burton chipped in with 12 points.

Nevada will now look to find a victory at Boise State on Wednesday with tip-off set for 5:00 p.m
