CARSON CITY — Officials with Western Nevada College, Black Rock Solar and NV Energy are celebrating completion of a 200-kilowatt solar project at the college’s campus on Wednesday.

WNC is receiving a $940,000 rebate from NV Energy’s SolarGenerations program to offset installation costs. The photovoltaic solar panels are expected to generate up to 360,000 kilowatt hours of electricity annually.

The check presentation and remarks by project participants are part of WNC’s 2012 Earth Week activities. The ceremony begins at 11 a.m. behind the Aspen Building on the Carson City campus, 2201 W. College Pkwy.
