SPARKS — Police have identified the two drivers in Monday’s road rage shooting on Interstate 80 as 40-year-old-Kristian Francis Rodgers and 46-year-old Devin Larry Churchill, both from Fernley.

The two drivers called Sparks police at about 8:50 a.m. Monday after the incident near the Vista Boulevard offramp from I-80. Officers and detectives learned that the lone occupants of the two involved vehicles were traveling westbound several miles east of Sparks when an episode of road rage unfolded between them. Upon exiting I-80 onto the offramp, the two drivers got into a fight. At some point, Rodgers produced a handgun and fired at Churchill, striking him in his front torso. He was treated at Renown Regional Medical Center.

Detectives are hoping to identify the driver of an 18-wheel truck as a witness to the shooting.

Anyone who has information about this incident is asked to contact Sparks police detectives at 353-2225, Sparks dispatch at 353-2231 or Secret Witness at 322-4900.
