RENO — Police arrested two men at about 4 a.m. Friday in the area of 955 Maplewood Drive for a residential burglary that just occurred.

Alex Grassi, 23, and Anthony Hansen, 28, have been charged with burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary and possession of stolen property.

Officers were sent to the address after the homeowner discovered one of the suspects in his garage. The homeowner called the police after the suspect ran off. Officers arrived in the area and chased the suspect, cornering him in the rear of a nearby residence.

While officers were conducting the investigation, a vehicle was spotted in the area and stopped for suspicious activity. The driver was later arrested, and determined to have been involved in the burglary. The vehicle was registered to the suspect officers had chased on foot and contained stolen property. Some of the recovered property was linked to a vehicle burglary that occurred earlier in the night on Lander Street.

Both suspects were later booked into the Washoe County jail, and the property was returned to the owner. Other property which was not identified, was placed into evidence for further investigation.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with additional information about this incident is asked to call the Reno Police Department at 334-2115 or the Secret Witness at 322-4900.
