Three arrested for robbing two men on street

RENO — Police have arrested three people for allegedly robbing two men as they walked along the 4000 block of Baker Lane.

Floyd Vorice II, 20, William Tripp, 21, and Elisha Kelly 21, were arrested Monday and charged with robbery with the use of a deadly weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery. According to police, at about 2:40 a.m. two men were walking in south Reno when they were approached by four men in a white Honda. The men exited the vehicle and demanded the men’s wallets at gunpoint. One victim fled and was chased by two of the suspects. The other victim gave the remaining two suspects his wallet. The victim’s money was removed from the wallet and all four men fled in the vehicle.

About 15 minutes later, Reno police Officer Ira Coffey found a white Honda occupied by four men traveling north on Holcomb Avenue near Pueblo Street. When Coffey initiated a traffic stop, one of the men fled from the vehicle while the other three were detained.

Police found the gun in the vehicle, and the victim’s money, which was in the possession of one of the defendants.

Evidence from a robbery reported on May 18 by another pedestrian in the South Meadows area of Reno was also found in the vehicle. Police are still investigating that robbery.

The fourth suspect is described as a white man, 20 to 25 years old, 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-8 weighing 160 to 180 pounds last seen wearing a blue T-shirt with logo on the front and blue jeans.
