RENO — Leadership Reno Sparks (LRS) class of 2012 announces its annual class project: to provide physical improvements to the Sparks Senior Citizens Center (SSCC), located at 97 Richards Way in Sparks.

The center serves more than 20,000 senior citizens annually, yet has seen little to no improvements since 1992. LRS class of 2012 plans renovations to the SSCC including fencing in a community garden, fresh paint, new carpet, artwork and photography for common areas, furniture and window treatments and supplies for a new arts and crafts room.

To help fund this service project, the LRS class of 2012, which will provide the planning and physical labor for the remodel, is hosting a fundraiser from 5 to 8 p.m. June 28 at  Campo and Ole Bridge Pub located in the Palladio, 50 N. Sierra St. in Reno. Cost is $30 and attendees will enjoy appetizers, specialty drinks and cocktails, silent auction and raffle prizes at two of downtown Reno’s finest riverfront establishments.
